OFICIÁLNĚ: Komunikátor SoftBank X01NK

Japonský operátor SoftBank představil minulý týden svůj nový komunikátor nazvaný SoftBank X01NK. Pokud by se vám zdál poněkud povědomý, pak to možná bude tím, že jde o Nokii E61 nesoucí logo SoftBank .. d8-D

Na blogu OziPod se objevila i mini recenze nebo spíše seznam dojmů z používání komunikátoru SoftBank X01NK aka Nokia E61 v Japonsku. WCDMA tam běhá v pohodě takže 3G roamingu by nemělo nic bránit. Jakmile budu mít cestu do Japonska tak to sám odzkouším :o)

Nicméně nějaké ty mušky se přeci jen najdou. Jednak je to chybějící podpora i-mode (něco jako náš WAP):

„i-mode“ is smiplified web and e-mail services provided by NTT DoCoMo like WAP. This proprietary service is very popular among Japanese cell phone users. Most of DoCoMo’s cell phone have i-mode functions. E61 is directly sold from Nokia Japan and doesn’t have the function. However, DoCoMo’s users can use Mopera U that is an ISP dedicated for DoCoMo’s cell phone users providing IP connectibity and the Internet e-mail service. E61+DoCoMo users who want Internet access need to subscribe Mopera U. Mopera U provides IMAP4/POP3/SMTP e-mail services to their subscribers. E61+DoCoMo users can send/receive e-mail via the service.

A pak také nefunkční „push e-mail“ v síti operátora NTT DoCoMo:

„push e-mail“ means that the carrier notifies new message arrival to a cell phone, then the cell phone automatically downloads the message body. M1000 (J-version Motrola A1000) can do this with NTT DoCoMo, but E61 can’t. However, Mopera U provides the message arrival notification service. With the service, Mopera U will send the notifications to subscriber’s cell phone via SMS.
